Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear to my appointment?

Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended. For neck problems, the Physiotherapist may ask you to remove your top. For back, a hip or knee problem, the Physiotherapist is likely to ask you to remove your trousers. If required, we have shorts and gowns to allow for privacy and for access to the injured area.

What do I need to bring to my first visit?

Please bring the following if you have them:

  • Any X-Rays, scans, or other test results
  • Referral letter ( if applicable )

If you are a WCA (Workman's Compensation) patient, you need to bring

  • A doctors' referral letter
  • A COIDA claim number from the Compensation Commissioner
  • COIDA claim details, including 1st medical report and contact details of your employer

What can I expect from my Physiotherapy treatments?
  • It is recommended that you arrive a few minutes early for your scheduled appointment.You will need to complete an admission form and sign a consent form prior to the treatment.
  • Your Physiotherapist will assess you and devise a treatment plan. The options will be discussed.
  • The hands-on care Physiotherapists provide, varies from person to person. It focuses on the individual needs and may change from one treatment to another. We will consider your personal health and lifestyle goals.
  • The initial assessment may include measuring of body functions and strength and weakness testing. It could also include observed or instrumented analysis of gait, posture, balance, joint range of motion and functional movement.
  • Your Physiotherapist's therapeutic treatment plan will involve education, exercise, and manual therapy components. Depending on your condition, this may include mobilization, manual therapy, work hardening, techniques and modalities to reduce pain.
  • It might also comprise demonstrations of therapeutic exercise and education about your condition, treatment plan and prognosis for getting better.
  • By combining the principles of evidence-informed practice, evaluating skills and clinical and professional judgment, your Physiotherapist will work closely with you to improve your condition. Often, other health care professionals are brought on board where necessary to ensure that your health goals are met.

How do I Pay?

You will be provided with a detailed account, which you can submit to your medical aid for reimbursement to you, once you have had your treatment and paid. We accept cash, credit and debit cards as well as cheques. Should you be treated in hospital, your account will be submitted to your medical aid electronically and a paper copy will be posted to you.

Is there a Cancellation Policy?

Yes, a cancellation fee may be charged to non-arrivals.
